Plain CT or contrast CT?
A plain CT needs no injection and no fasting, so you can walk in with your prescription. A contrast CT uses a dye through a vein in your arm. It shows organs and blood vessels far more clearly, but you need to fast for 4 to 6 hours and bring a recent creatinine report.
Neither is better in general. Each answers a different question, and your doctor picks the one that answers yours.
